Rick joined Oakville and Milton Humane Society as the Executive Director in April 2018, tasked with helping the Society improve processes, change culture and create a stronger organization. Rick was in the process of searching for one last role before retiring, a role working in a different field, closer to the grassroots of an organization. Rick spent many years at the Canadian Cancer Society at the regional, provincial and national levels. His last position was Interim Executive Director of Ontario. When in a conversation about his next move, Rick mentioned his love of animals. It didn’t take us long to connect him to the Oakville opportunity. Rick wanted one last role before retirement, and we had something for him! Rick brings to the role a well-rounded background in both operations and fundraising and has experience helping organizations manage large organizational change. His references described him as an amazing leader of people and someone who inspires growth and development in his staff.
