Kathryn Harvey, Associate Director, Campaign Fundraising, Windmill Microlending

We’re thrilled to share that Kathryn Harvey has joined Windmill Microlending as Associate Director, Campaign Fundraising. Kathryn started the role in November 2025.

Reporting to Sarah Legault, National Director of Philanthropy, Kathryn will lead major gifts fundraising and donor engagement across Western Canada, ensuring this region continues to be well represented and supported in Windmill’s growing philanthropic community.

Kathryn brings over a decade of experience in major gift fundraising, donor stewardship, and strategic communications across Calgary’s non-profit sector. Most recently, she served as Senior Development Officer at YWCA Calgary, stewarding over $100M in campaign gifts and strengthening donor relationships. She has also held progressive roles at United Way of Calgary and Area, including leading transformational $1M+ gift relationships and developing strategic donor communications and recognition initiatives.

Throughout the search process, Kathryn impressed us with her warmth, authenticity, and strong relationship-building skills — qualities that make her an exceptional fundraiser and a natural connector. Combined with her deep understanding of Calgary’s community and her experience with two of the city’s most respected organizations, she is an ideal fit for this role.

Kathryn holds a post-graduate certificate in Public Relations from Humber College and an undergraduate degree with honours in Community Development Studies from St. Francis Xavier University, where she was first inspired by the work of Windmill (then the Immigrant Access Fund Canada).

Throughout her career, she has been passionate about building inclusive communities through philanthropy and is excited to contribute to Windmill’s ambitious campaign to support internationally trained immigrants and refugees in achieving career success in Canada.

We’re proud to have supported Kathryn’s transition and are excited to see her bring her talents — and her exceptional relational skills — to Windmill Microlending. Click here to see Kathryn’s LinkedIn profile.
