Doug joined True Patriot Love as the director of fundraising for western Canada. Doug started the role in August 2018. He was a member of the Calgary Police Service for 25 years before retiring in 2005. Doug then moved on and built a career in fundraising with United Way, University of Calgary and Calgary Health Trust. His interest in the military community was evident. Within the not for profit sector, Doug was involved and helped support veteran programs that needed individual and corporate funding in order to move forward and provide critical help with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). With a background in policing, his interest in helping military veterans and their families and experience as a fundraiser with a deep connection to the donor community in Calgary, Doug was a natural hire for True Patriot Love. Doug brings a mature and sophisticated approach to donor cultivation and is respected by those donors he has developed relationships with. There is no doubt that Doug will bring the opportunity for western Canada philanthropists to become more involved in supporting our veterans and their families.
