Craig Sharma, Director, National Events, Cystic Fibrosis Canada

We’re happy to share that Craig Sharma has joined Cystic Fibrosis Canada as Director, National Events. Craig started the role in February 2026.

Reporting to Huda Al-Saedy, Chief Development Officer, Craig will lead the national events team, overseeing a group of ten staff and a portfolio that represents close to 50% of Cystic Fibrosis Canada’s total revenue

Craig brings deep and diverse experience in event-based fundraising at a senior level. Most recently, he spent four years founding and leading his own event company, supporting several large Canadian charities. After building and scaling his business, Craig decided he wanted to return to an in-house role within a highly collaborative organization — a natural fit with CF Canada’s team-oriented culture.

Before launching his company, Craig held senior roles with major charitable organizations, including Heart & Stroke Canada, Baycrest Foundation, and American Heart Association. Earlier in his career, he built a strong foundation in the private sector, with roles at TD Canada Trust, PC Financial, and National Money Mart.

Craig emerged as the successful candidate due to his strong strategic capabilities and national leadership experience. Throughout the search process, he demonstrated an ability to see the big picture, identify growth opportunities across an events portfolio, and imagine and build new events from the ground up — all while leading and supporting large, distributed teams. Staff reporting to Craig described him as a supportive leader who prioritizes staff growth and development.

In an ever-changing events landscape, CF Canada was seeking a creative, innovative leader with deep and varied experience — someone who could both lead and evolve a national events program. Craig’s blend of strategic thinking, operational expertise, and people-centred leadership made him the clear choice.

We wish Craig every success in his new role and look forward to seeing Cystic Fibrosis Canada continue to build community and impact through its national events program. Click here to see Craig’s LinkedIn profile.
